Tough Loss for the Fish
Well, fellow Marlins fans, it was a tough game against the Dodgers today. Despite our efforts, we fell short with the final score at 8-4.Early Innings: Quiet Bats
Both sides started off cautiously. In the top of the 1st inning, Shohei Ohtani tried to ignite the Dodgers' offense but got thrown out at home thanks to a great defensive play. Our own Xavier Edwards managed to single and steal second, but we couldn't capitalize on the opportunity. The second inning saw Will Smith putting the Dodgers ahead with a solo homer (394 feet). We had a chance with Jonah Bride's walk but couldn't push him past first base.4th Inning Woes
The 4th inning was our undoing. Freddie Freeman and Tommy Edman teamed up for a two-run homer, followed by a three-run blast by Enrique Hernández. Dodgers put 5 runs on the board, making it a daunting 6-0.Rally in the 7th
In the 7th inning, our bats finally woke up! Bride singled, Kyle Stowers doubled, and Otto Lopez brought them home with a single. Nick Fortes added another run with a sacrifice fly, making it 6-3. It breathed some life back into the game for us!Dodgers’ Counterpunch
The Dodgers weren't done yet. Chris Taylor added two more runs in the 8th inning, extending their lead to 8-3. Even though we managed to add one more run in the bottom of the 9th, thanks to a sac fly by Fortes, it just wasn’t enough.Final Thoughts
It was a tough game, but there were bright spots, like Edwards making some great defensive plays and Lopez showing his prowess with 2 RBIs.Onward and upward, Marlins fans! Let’s get 'em next time!
