Dodgers' Hot Start Fizzles Out
It was an exhilarating start to the game as our very own Shohei Ohtani blasted a solo homer to right center, giving the Dodgers an early lead!
Mets Bounce Back
The Mets were quick to respond, however, exploiting a rare error by Max Muncy and following it with a two-run homer by Pete Alonso. Suddenly, the tables turned, and we were down 2-1 midway through the first inning. A tough break, but that’s the rollercoaster of baseball for you!
Dodgers Struggle to Regain Momentum
Our bats went silent through the mid-innings, despite a few opportunities such as Freeman and T. Hernández getting on base. The latter even stole third but we couldn't bring him home, ending the innings sadly still behind. It wasn’t for lack of trying, but the Mets' defense held firm.
Late Innings Frenzy
As the innings progressed, we hoped for a spark. Sadly, despite flashes like Andy Pages showcasing speed on the bases, Mets pitching demonstrated strong resilience. Meanwhile, the Mets managed to notch an insurance run courtesy of some messy play on our part, missing the chance to close the gap. A frustrating end to a night that had started with such promise.
Fighter’s Spirit Remains
In the 9th, with glimmers of hope, Muncy singled and Pages stole second, invoking the fighting spirit we know and love in the Dodgers. Sadly, it wasn't to be, as we fell 3-1 to the Mets. But hey, tomorrow's another day in the diamond! Let's keep that Dodger Blue spirit alive and look forward to bouncing back stronger in the next game. Go Dodgers!
