Tough Night in Queens
Dodger fans, it was a rough outing against the Mets last night. Our boys fell to New York 12-6, and it felt like an uphill battle after the first inning. The Mets came out swinging with a three-run homer by Pete Alonso that put us on the back foot early. It seemed like the baseball gods weren't on our side, despite some flashes of brilliance here and there.A Tale of Missed Opportunities
Despite a promising start in the first inning with Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts both getting on base, we couldn't capitalize. Kudos to Andy Pages, though, who put on a show with not one, but two homers to try and keep us in the game. His first, a solo shot, got us on the board in the 4th inning, and his second—a three-run blast in the 5th—gave us some hope. Not to be outdone, Betts added a solo homer of his own in the 6th, but it just wasn't enough to outweigh our defensive lapses.Bright Spots Amidst the Struggle
While it wasn't the result we wanted, there were bright moments, especially Pages providing some serious power. And let's talk about Mookie's energetic performance; he was relentless in trying to spark a rally. We also saw some good base running, with Enrique Hernández scoring a run off a wild pitch. However, the Mets lineup was relentless and made it hard for any comeback attempts.Looking Ahead
This game's tough loss stands as a reminder that we need to tighten our play and capitalize on scoring opportunities more effectively. With the talent we have, like Ohtani and Betts, we know we can turn things around. Let's regroup, recharge, and set our sights on the next matchup. Let's keep cheering for our boys in blue, knowing that every season has its ups and downs. Keep the faith, Dodger faithful—better days are coming! ️Scoreboard for Dodgers @ Mets (October 18th, 2024)
