Dodgers Start Strong, But Fall Short

The Los Angeles Dodgers came out of the gates swinging against the New York Yankees. In the top of the first inning, our boys drew first blood when Freddie Freeman launched a two-run homer to right field, scoring Mookie Betts after his double. 💪 It was the perfect beginning, giving us a 2-0 lead, and hope was high among Dodgers fans.

Yankees Answer Back with a Big Inning

The bottom of the third brought trouble for us. The Yankees struck back hard, with Anthony Volpe hitting a grand slam that turned the tides entirely, bringing the score to 5-2 in favor of the Yankees. This was a tough inning to watch, and our pitching change with Hudson replacing Casparius unfortunately couldn't prevent the onslaught.

Dodgers Rally Falls Short

We saw some sparks of life in the fifth when Will Smith sent a solo shot into the stands and Freeman managed to bring home Tommy Edman, tightening the score to 5-4. But every time we tried to close the gap, it seemed the Yankees had another answer. The eighth inning was particularly brutal, with a homer by Gleyber Torres sealing our fate and expanding their lead further.

While it wasn't the ending we hoped for, the resilience and skill of our players was on full display. We're all looking forward to the next matchup where we'll come back stronger! 💙⚾
