Tough Night for the Braves
Tonight wasn't our night as the Braves fell to the Marlins 5-1. The game started off quietly, with both sides standing firm in the first couple of innings. But in the third, Xavier Edwards snuck through our defense, allowing Dane Myers to score, putting the Marlins on the board first. Our boys had opportunities, with Jurickson Profar making a smart move to steal second in the bottom of the third. Unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize.
A Difficult Fourth and Fifth Inning
The Marlins widened their lead in the fourth inning. Jakob Marsee and Troy Johnston both contributed to Miami's score, making it 3-0. And as if that wasn't enough, Heriberto Hernández homered in the fifth, extending their lead to 5-0. Bryce Elder did his best, but Miami read him well tonight.
Profar's Power!
In the bottom of the sixth, we finally got a bit of action as Jurickson Profar smashed a home run to right field, covering 416 feet and lighting up Truist Park! That moment gave us hope, but we couldn't build on it. Profar's homer was our only score, while the Marlins held their ground and kept our bats quiet.
Conclusion
It was a challenging game against the Marlins, with the final score standing at 5-1. Despite the loss, the Braves put forth an effort, with moments of brilliance from Jurickson Profar. The road continues, and we'll come back stronger in our next game!
