Our Cubs came out swinging in the first inning, with Nico Hoerner showing off his skills early on by doubling to center, setting the stage for a scoring spree. Patrick Wisdom took a strategic walk, and then Cody Bellinger brought Hoerner home with a sharp single to right. The inning was capped off by Dansby Swanson who nailed a double to center, scoring Wisdom and giving the Cubs an early 2-0 lead. The crowd was electric, and you could feel that our Cubs were in it to win it!
Dominating the Diamond!
The Cubs' dominance continued into the second and third innings, systematically extending our lead. Hoerner was unstoppable, doubling to left in the second and bringing home Nick Madrigal. But the third inning was where the magic happened - a combination of strategic walks and powerful hits by Garrett Cooper and Miguel Amaya piled on four more runs, leaving the Marlins reeling at a 7-0 deficit.
