Astros Kick Off with a Bang!
What a way to start the game, Astros fans! Although the Marlins got an early homer from De La Cruz, we immediately responded with an incredible bottom of the first. Thanks to a walk from Alex Bregman, a double by Yainer Diaz, and an excellent sacrifice fly from Jon Singleton, we tied the game. Then, Jeremy Peña hit a brilliant RBI single, bringing Diaz home. Astros lead 2-1!Back-and-Forth Battle
The Marlins tied it up again in the top of the second, but we weren't going to let them snatch the lead. Trey Cabbage hit a crucial double, and Cesar Salazar grounded out just right to bring Cabbage home, pushing us back up 3-2. Gotta love that hustle!Momentum Continues
In the fourth inning, Jake Meyers doubled to center, scoring Joey Loperfido. Then, a fielding error allowed Jose Altuve to load the bases. Bregman kept his cool and grounded into a fielder's choice, scoring Meyers. Astros extended our lead to 5-2!Holding Strong
Though Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a solo home run for Miami, our pitching staff held firm. Dubin, Abreu, and Pressly kept the Marlins from mounting a serious threat. We even capitalized on a fielding error by Jon Singleton scoring after some Marlins' missteps. At the end of the fifth, it was 6-3, Houston!Closing It Out
The final innings saw great pitching and defense. Ryan Pressly and Josh Hader shut the door on any potential Marlins rally. Some timely strikeouts, including Chisholm Jr. swinging in the 9th, secured the W for our boys.Astros win 6-3! Great team effort today, securing another win in our home turf. Let's keep this momentum going. Go 'Stros!
