Tough Day at Citi Field
As a die-hard Mets fan, it's always tough to swallow a loss at home, especially against division rivals like the Marlins. Despite the valiant efforts from our boys in blue and orange, we ended the day with a disappointing 7-4 loss.
A Promising Start
Francisco Lindor got us going in the first inning, singling to center field and soon advancing with the help of Juan Soto's groundout. Pete Alonso then followed with a double, placing Lindor in scoring position. The highlight of the inning was when Brandon Nimmo came through big, smashing a double to right field and bringing both Lindor and Alonso home, putting us ahead 2-1.
Alonso’s Mighty Homer
The game remained tight until Pete Alonso stepped up once again. With us trailing behind, he sent a booming 425-feet homer to center in the 5th inning, bringing Juan Soto, who had walked, back with him to tie the game at 4-4. This moment was pure magic for us Mets fans in attendance.

Mets' Stumbles
Unfortunately, the Marlins capitalized on some defensive errors in the 7th inning that turned the tide against us. A couple of fielding errors and passed balls extended the inning for the Marlins, who pushed through with three more runs, making it tough to catch up.Final Push Falls Short
The bottom of the 9th showed us some fight, as Starling Marte came in to pinch-hit and gave it his all, but we couldn't string together enough hits to close the gap. The Marlins' bullpen locked us down, and our bats fell silent when it mattered the most.Looking Ahead
This isn't how we wanted today's game to end, but as Mets fans, we know that with every challenge, there’s an opportunity ahead. Let's regroup and keep the faith as we look forward to the next game. Go Mets!
