Tough Pitching Dominance by Phillies
Hey Marlins fans!
Early Runs Make a Difference
In the bottom of the 1st inning, the Phillies jumped ahead with a two-run homer courtesy of Bryce Harper after Trea Turner reached first. They gained momentum and in the 2nd inning piled on more runs with four singles and capitalizing on some wild pitches. This put us down 0-6 quite early in the game. It was hard to recover from there, no doubt!
Sparks from Wagaman!
Our bright moment came at the top of the 6th inning when Eric Wagaman stepped up and launched a phenomenal 427-foot homer, the very first for the Marlins that day! Finally, some cheers from us, as it brought in Kyle Stowers, reducing the deficit to 7-2. Nevertheless, the Phillies' lead was too large for us to overcome this time around.Final Thoughts
Although it wasn't quite the game we hoped for, there were glimpses of fight from our lineup—especially Wagaman's blast that brought some life into the Marlins' dugout. Let's look forward to our next game and cheer on our Marlins as we continue this season strong! Keep the spirit up, Fish Nation!
