An Electrifying Start
Nationals fans, we had a promising start in this game! In the bottom of the 1st inning, CJ Abrams doubled to right field and then swiftly stole third base. Dylan Crews brought him home with an infield single, giving us an early 1-0 lead. After James Wood walked, Andres Chaparro unfortunately lined out to center. But Jose Tena came through with a double to left, scoring both Crews and Wood to put us up 3-0!Maintaining the Lead... At First
Our guys held the Marlins scoreless through the 2nd inning with some solid defense, but things got dicey in the top of the 3rd. A fielding error by Abrams and an RBI groundout allowed the Marlins to score two runs, narrowing our lead to 3-2. Fortunately, our pitching kept them in check, as we went into the middle innings with the same lead.Missed Opportunities
Throughout the middle innings, it felt like we had several opportunities to pad our lead, but we couldn't capitalize. Keibert Ruiz doubled in the bottom of the 3rd, and Jacob Young stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error in the 4th. Yet, we couldn’t bring them around to score. Our pitching was strong, though, keeping the Marlins at bay through the 5th and 6th innings.Falling Behind in the 8th
The game took a turn for the worse in the top of the 8th inning. After Xavier Edwards came in as a pinch hitter and doubled, the Marlins managed a couple of timely hits and took advantage of a costly throwing error by Luis García Jr., scoring three runs. Our bullpen couldn't hold them, and by the end of the inning, we were down 5-3.Ninth Inning Struggles
The Marlins added an insurance run in the top of the 9th, making it 6-3. When it was our turn to bat, the Marlins’ relief pitching shut us down in order, sealing their victory.Final Thoughts
Final score: Nationals 3, Marlins 6. This was a tough loss, especially after a hot start. But let's give credit where it's due: CJ Abrams and Dylan Crews had a great game offensively, and our pitchers mostly did their part. We've got another game coming up, so let’s bounce back strong!Let’s go Nats!
