Our spirits were high in the top of the 2nd when William Contreras started the inning with a single, followed by Sal Frelick earning a walk. Rhys Hoskins then drove in Contreras with a single, putting us on the scoreboard. Another double play allowed Frelick to make it 2-0 for the Crew. The 6th inning saw Jackson Chourio crush an outstanding homer to left center, extending our lead to 3-0. It was a picturesque shot at 448 feet! We squeezed in one more in the 9th, with Contreras delivering a clutch double scoring Chourio, making it 4-0 as we approached the final stretch. The Ninth Inning Dagger
Looking to close the deal, the 9th inning took an unfortunate turn. After a strong start by pitcher Yoel Payamps, Arizona managed to rally back. With bases loaded, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a sacrifice fly that sealed our fate, allowing the D-backs to edge out with a heartbreaking 5-4 victory.Final Thoughts
