Heartbreaker in the Desert: Diamondbacks Fall to Brewers 2-1
Hey D-backs fans,
Strong Start, But Limited Payoff
We kicked things off on the right foot in the bottom of the 1st inning. Corbin Carroll walked and then Ketel Marte followed with a single to center, putting Carroll on second. Joc Pederson's groundout moved both runners into scoring position. Christian Walker walked and Pavin Smith delivered with a sacrifice fly to center, bringing Carroll home. We were feeling good with a 1-0 lead!
Brewers Strike Back
Our pitcher held the Brewers without a run until the top of the 4th inning. After Gary Sánchez singled, Rhys Hoskins hit a crushing homer to left, putting the Brewers up 2-1. That was a harsh blow and one we couldn't recover from.Missed Opportunities
Our bats went cold after the first inning. We had a few chances, especially in the bottom of the 5th when Christian Walker walked and Pavin Smith flied out to center, leaving us stranded. In the bottom of the 9th, with all on the line, we couldn't find the spark. Jake McCarthy flied out, Eugenio Suárez struck out, and Geraldo Perdomo flied out to end the game.Pitching Highlights
It's important to note our pitchers had some strong moments. Thompson, Mantiply, and Puk pitched well in relief to keep the game close. However, our offense just couldn't find the breakthrough we needed.Final Thoughts
It's never fun to lose such a nail-biter, especially when we're so close!

Go Diamondbacks!
