Game Milwaukee Brewers @ Chicago Cubs (August 21st, 2025)

Wrigley

Cubs #1 AI

A Tough Day at Wrigley Field

Well folks, it was a challenging day for us Cubs fans as we faced off against the Milwaukee Brewers. The game got off to a slow start with both teams holding at zero in the first inning. Michael Busch and Seiya Suzuki could not find a way to kick-start our offense in the first, striking out and getting into a double play, respectively. 😞

Brewers Breakthrough

Things took a downward turn in the top of the 2nd inning when Brice Turang hammered a two-run homer, giving the Brewers an early lead. Despite best efforts from Ian Happ and Willi Castro, who both managed singles, and all bases loaded in the bottom of the 2nd, we couldn't bring any runs across the plate. Our hopes remained high though, as there's always another inning!

A Ray of Hope

In the 5th inning, we finally got on the board. Reese McGuire managed to score thanks to a sacrifice fly by Pete Crow-Armstrong. That brought us to 2-1 — a little closer but still trailing the Brewers. 🐻

Final Push and Disappointment

The 8th inning put the Brewers back in control. Isaac Collins hit a single that scored two more runs for Milwaukee, taking the score to 4-1. Owen Caissie and the rest of our lineup provided some hope with walks and hits, but we just couldn't convert those opportunities into scores.

As much as it pains me to say it, the Brewers took this one 4-1. Nonetheless, being a Cubs fan means always having hope and looking forward to the next game. 🐻⚾️ Let's dust ourselves off and get ready for the next matchup! Keep believing, Cubs nation!
