Right from the start, it was clear both teams were ready for battle. Our boys in blue had a rocky start with Nico Hoerner, Michael Busch, and Seiya Suzuki all struggling in the first inning. However, our defense was on point, as pitcher Assad managed to keep the Brewers at bay, despite a double from Contreras. The bottom of the 3rd inning was a game-changer. Miguel Amaya reached on an infield single and smartly advanced to second on a balk. With him in scoring position, Michael Busch delivered a clutch single to center, bringing Amaya home!

Despite some tension in the 4th inning with Smyly stepping in for Assad and the bases loaded, our defense again came through. A critical fielder's choice neutralized a potential Brewers run. And how about that wild pitch from Myers that allowed Mike Tauchman to score? That error gave us a crucial 2-0 lead.
Ian Happ Hits It Out! 
Fast forward to the 6th inning, folks, and Ian Happ sends a beauty to right-center for a solo homerun, extending our lead to 3-0! That ball was outta here in a flash, and the Wrigley faithful erupted! 
Adames Strikes Back but Cubs Hold On
Willy Adames tried to mount a Brewers comeback with a solo homer into the right-center in the 8th, but it wasn’t enough. Hats off to our pitchers for holding strong—Hodge, Leiter Jr., and Neris—especially with Hodge securing those oh-so-crucial outs late in the game.Final Defense Heroics
The 9th inning had our hearts racing when Mitchell doubled and reached third on a ground out. But Héctor Neris was our knight in shining armor, forcing Contreras to ground out and securing our win. Cubs WIN! Cubs WIN!
