Tough Loss in Extras
What a nail-biter of a game, Reds fans!
Our boys showed incredible fight, but unfortunately, we fell just short in extra innings against the Brewers.Fast Start for the Reds
The action started early with Jonathan India getting on base in the bottom of the first. Elly De La Cruz made it safely to first on a pitcher error, followed by Spencer Steer singling to right to advance De La Cruz to third. A fielder's choice allowed De La Cruz to score, and we went up 1-0!
Brewers Strike Back
In the top of the second, Willy Adames tied it up with a solo shot to left field. The Brewers then scored three more runs in the 4th, turning the tide to go up 4-3. We couldn't catch a break as they kept finding ways to get on base.
India's Heroics
Santiago Espinal responded with a homer of his own in the bottom of the 2nd, putting us back in the lead at 2-1. Later, Jonathan India smashed a solo homer in the 5th to tie it up again, 4-4. What a moment!
A Game of Missed Opportunities
Both teams had their chances but couldn't capitalize. Elly De La Cruz put the pressure on in the 7th, reaching third base after a double and a throwing error. However, Spencer Steer couldn't bring him home.We had another prime opportunity in the bottom of the 9th when Luke Maile singled to center, but India struck out swinging, ending our hopes for a walk-off win in regular innings.
Extra Innings Heartbreak
The Brewers managed to scrape a run in the top of the 10th. Despite our best efforts, including a wild pitch advancing India to third and TJ Friedl walking to first, Ty France flied out to right, concluding a heart-wrenching 5-4 loss.Final Thoughts
It's tough when you're so close, but the fight in our Reds is undeniable. We showed we can hang with the best, and it's only a matter of time before we turn these close games into victories. Keep your heads up, Reds Nation! We'll get 'em next time!
