Tough Night in Colorado

Ah, what a rollercoaster 🐇 tonight was for us Brewers fans as we watched our beloved Brew Crew take on the Rockies in Colorado. Despite showing some promise early on, we eventually fell to the Rockies with a final score of 7-2. Not the result we were hoping for, but there's always a silver lining 🌤️.

Early Scuffles

We got off to a bit of a rough start in the early innings. Brice Turang, Jackson Chourio, and Christian Yelich all retired in the first inning without much to show for it. Meanwhile, Brenton Doyle of the Rockies homered in the bottom of the first, putting us on an early back foot. In the following innings, it seemed like the hits just weren't landing for us, despite some hopeful plays by Oliver Dunn and others.

A Glimmer of Hope

Our spirits lifted in the fourth inning when Yelich doubled and William Contreras brought him home with another double. 🎉 That tied the game at 1-1 and gave us hope for a comeback. However, both teams seemed to hit a bit of a stalemate, with neither side able to break the tie by the end of the fifth inning.

Seventh-Inning Blues

The seventh inning brought as much anticipation as it did disappointment 😞. After the Rockies took a slim lead with Doyle scoring Mickey Moniak, we managed to level it again with Chourio scoring on a ground ball play. But disaster struck in the bottom of the 8th. The Rockies posted a five-run rally that included a back-breaking double by Doyle and a double by Zac Veen. It left us trailing 7-2, a deficit too large to overcome in the 9th.

Final Attempt and Conclusion

We showed a flicker of hope at the top of the 9th with Joey Ortiz walking and advancing to third, thanks to a wild pitch 💥. But it wasn't enough, as the final out was made and we had to take the loss.

All in all, tonight's result wasn't what we wanted, but better days are on the horizon for our Brewers. Keep cheering on the Brew Crew! 💪⚾
