Tough Day at Coors Field
Well, Rockies fam, it was a rough one today as we faced off against the Brewers at home. Despite our high hopes for a victorious outing, the game ended with a disappointing 3-0 loss.
Missed Opportunities in the Early Innings
Starting with the Top of the 1st, things didn't go our way right from the start. Christian Yelich homered to right (446 feet) to give the Brewers an early lead, and we just couldn't seem to shake that sluggish start. Brendan Rodgers gave us a glimmer of hope with a single to right in the bottom half, but we couldn't capitalize.In the 2nd inning, there were more struggles. Sal Frelick walked and later scored on a single by Jake Bauers, extending their lead. When Brenton Doyle singled to left in the bottom of the second, we thought we might have a chance, but a double play squashed that momentum quickly.
Middle Innings: Stranded Runners
Moving into the 3rd and 4th innings, we started to find some hitting power. Elias DÃaz doubled to left in the 4th, but unfortunately, we couldn't bring him home. That was the story of today's game – getting runners on base but not following through to bring them in.
By the 5th inning, it looked grim. Brice Turang scored again for the Brewers, leaving us trailing 3-0. Despite hits from Jake Cave and Rodgers, nothing seemed to break for us.
Late-Inning Hopes Dashed
The final innings were a nail-biter but ultimately heartbreakers. In the 7th, Michael Toglia managed a single but got picked off, which felt like another blow. Then in the 9th, a beautiful double to right by Doyle gave us one last bit of hope. But with two quick outs, he was left stranded at third after a wild pitch.It's incredibly tough to see our boys go down like this, especially at Coors Field. A big shoutout to Charlie Blackmon, Rodgers, Doyle, and DÃaz for their hits and hustle. We'll be back, stronger and ready to fight another day.
