The Comeback Kings
Fast forward to the bottom of the seventh, the atmosphere was electric. Michael Massey ignited the comeback with a solo homer to right center, cutting the deficit to one. The tension was palpable. And then, the magic happened in the most Royals fashion imaginable. Nelson Velázquez got hit by a pitch, Adam Frazier walked, and then Dairon Blanco reached on an infield single, loading the bases. It was Maikel Garcia's single to center that turned the game on its head, driving in two runs due to a fielding error, and putting us ahead 3-2!
The stadium was rocking, and why not? Our boys showed grit, determination, and the never-say-die attitude we've come to love.
Locking Down the Win
Heading into the eighth and ninth, our bullpen was tasked with preserving this slender lead. Tyler Duffey and Josh Staumont handled their business like the pros they are, stranding Brewers on the bases and keeping them scoreless. The game ended with a groundout by Gary Sánchez to shortstop, sealing the deal for a 3-2 Royals victory! What a game, folks! From the pitching staff holding strong after that early scare to our hitters clawing back into the lead. This team showed its true colors, battling every step of the way.
