Last night, our Milwaukee Brewers took on the Kansas City Royals in a heartbreaker of a game that ended with a 2-3 loss for the Crew. In what seemed like a promising turn of events during the top of the 4th inning, Gary Sánchez blasted a stunning 427-foot homer to left center, bringing Willy Adames in to score and putting the Brewers up 2-0. The game was a tight pitcher's duel with both teams' defenses shining through the middle innings. Our Brewers managed to keep the Royals scoreless through the first five innings, thanks to some outstanding pitching and fielding. The 7th inning stretch was not kind to our Crew. The Royals loaded the bases and then Michael Massey hit a homer to right center, narrowing our lead to just one run. Tensions rose as the Royals' Maikel Garcia then singled a heartbreaker to center, driving in two runs due to a fielding error by center fielder Blake Perkins, which put the Royals ahead 3-2.Brewers' Late Game Efforts Fall Short
Our Brewers tried to claw back in the late innings, notably in the 9th when Rhys Hoskins drew a walk and Tyler Black, running for Hoskins, represented the tying run.
