Hey A's Fans!
Tough game today against the Brewers, but there were definitely some bright spots for our Oakland Athletics. Here's a recap of what went down:
A's Start Strong with Bleday's Blast
The first inning looked promising as JJ Bleday sent one flying to right center for a solo home run! This gave us an early 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, that momentum didn't last long.
Struggles in the 2nd Inning
The Brewers came back hard in the top of the second inning. A combination of singles, walks, and a groundout led to three runs for Milwaukee, putting us down 3-1. Our pitchers struggled to find the strike zone, which hurt us big time.
Rooker and Cameron Provide Hope
Fast forward to the 6th inning, Brent Rooker crushed a two-run homer to left center, cutting the Brewers' lead to 5-3. Later, in the 7th inning, Daz Cameron delivered a crucial double to right, scoring Zack Gelof and making it 5-4. The crowd was electric!
Brewers Too Much in the 9th
Despite our efforts, the Brewers pulled away in the 9th inning with a series of unfortunate plays for us, piling on four more runs and extending their lead to 9-4. We managed to get one back in the bottom of the 9th with Rooker driving in Gelof, but it wasn't enough. Final score: Brewers 9, Athletics 5.
Look Ahead
Even though it was a rough game today, there is plenty to be excited about with some of the performances we saw. Let's keep our heads up and look forward to the next game. There's always a new opportunity to prove ourselves!
