A Tough Day at the Coliseum
Ouch, fellow Oakland A’s fans.
An Unfortunate Start
Right from the top of the 1st inning, things didn’t quite go our way. After a strong start by getting two outs, a throwing error by our catcher, Shea Langeliers, allowed the Brewers to score first. Our hopes for a quick comeback were dashed in the bottom half when Jacob Wilson fouled out, Brent Rooker struck out, and Tyler Soderstrom lined out without any points on the scoreboard.
Brewers Rolling, A's Struggling
Our pitching staff struggled to hold the Brewers back as they continued to capitalize on our miscues. Mitchell and Pratt were pivotal for their side, each grabbing crucial hits and adding more runs as they built their lead to 6-0 by the 5th inning. Meanwhile, we couldn’t seem to get any momentum offensively – our bats remained silent. Gio Urshela and CJ Alexander struck out swinging, encapsulating a tough afternoon against some solid Brewers pitching.
A Few Bright Spots
Despite the tough scoreline, there were a few small flashes late in the innings, like pinch hitter Colby Thomas doubling to left in the 9th. However, we just couldn't get anything going. Striking out was the story of our day, as Max Muncy, Carlos Cortes, and Henry Bolte struck out swinging without generating any runs in the 8th and 9th innings. The Brewers added onto their lead later with more runs, bringing it to a rather disappointing end at 10-0.
Shake It Off and Come Back Stronger
It was a rough outing, but it's only one game. Let’s rally behind the team and come back stronger in the next match. We have some talented players, and sometimes things don’t go your way out there. Better days are ahead, A's fans!
