Tough Opening Inning for the Bucs
The game got off to a rocky start for our Pittsburgh Pirates as the Milwaukee Brewers quickly jumped ahead with three runs in the top of the 1st inning. A sacrifice fly by Rhys Hoskins and a costly error contributed to the Brewers' fast lead. Our boy Oneil Cruz had a tough beginning, unfortunately committing a throwing error that allowed two runs to score. But hey, it's just the start! There's plenty of baseball left to play.
Cruz Brings the Fire in the 3rd
The 3rd inning brought some excitement back for us when Oneil Cruz launched a 432-feet homer to right field, putting the Pirates on the board! That's the kind of blast we love to see from our young star!
A Battle in the 6th and 7th
The 6th inning saw the Pirates rally back as Alexander Canario tripled, setting the stage for Adam Frazier to bring him home with a single. Frazier then advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Tommy Pham's single, bringing us to a 3-3 tie! What a comeback!
Then came the 7th inning magic: Adam Frazier again with a clutch double to drive in Canario and McCutchen, putting the Pirates ahead 5-3. It's always fantastic to see such resilience from the team. However, the Brewers didn't back down and responded with three runs in the 8th, inching ahead with a 6-5 lead.
Final Push and Close Calls
The 9th inning was a nail-biter! With Alexander Canario making it onto the base paths and even stealing second, our hopes were high for a comeback. Unfortunately, despite his valiant efforts and some tense plate appearances, we couldn't bring him home. While the Pirates fell 6-5 to the Brewers, it was a spirited effort and a game full of swings and emotions. Until next time, let's keep the optimism up and our eyes on the prize. Let's go, Bucs!
