Brewers' Early Lead

The night started off on the right foot with Jackson Chourio showing patience at the plate, drawing a walk to get us started. Next, Christian Yelich came through with a single that sent Chourio all the way to third base. Rhys Hoskins then flew out to right, bringing Chourio home on a sacrifice fly for the first run. But the real excitement came from Sal Frelick, who singled and capitalized on the Pirates' mistakes — a pair of errors by center fielder Oneil Cruz — to push our lead to a solid 3-0. What a start! ⚾

Pirates Battle Back

The Pirates wouldn't go down without a fight, though. As we reached the 3rd inning, Oneil Cruz struck back with a homer that seemed to travel to the ends of Pittsburgh (432 feet, to be exact 🌌). Adam Frazier and Tommy Pham then chipped in during the 6th inning, evening the score at 3-3. It got tense when Frazier and Andrew McCutchen contributed to the Pirates snatching the lead away from us, bringing the score to 5-3. The pressure couldn't have been more intense!

Brewers Bounce Back

But we’re the Brewers, and we’re known for our resilience! Rolling into the 8th inning, Isaac Collins showcased his skills with a crucial double, sending Rhys Hoskins to third. It was Caleb Durbin's key double that tied the game again by driving in Hoskins and Collins. Brice Turang was electric, delivering another double to bring in Durbin and reclaim the lead for us, 6-5!

Our bullpen kept it cool under pressure with Abner Uribe and Trevor Megill holding the Pirates at bay during the bottom of the 8th and 9th innings. Megill struck down the last two batters to secure our thrilling victory. It was a pulsating back-and-forth game that ended with the Brewers on top, 6-5! 💪

Go Brewers! 🎉
