Tough Loss Against the Brewers
Ahoy, Pirates fans! Despite our best efforts, we couldn't pull off a win against the Brewers, falling 7-2. Here’s a recap of what went down at PNC Park.Early Struggles
The Brewers got on the board first in the top of the 2nd inning. After an infield single by Willy Adames and a double by Sal Frelick that scored Adames, Joey Ortiz single brought in two more runs to make it 3-0 Brewers. But the Buccos didn't take long to answer back. In the bottom of the 2nd, Joey Bart singled to left, and Bryan De La Cruz doubled to put runners in scoring position. Jared Triolo singled up the center, bringing Bart home. De La Cruz scored on a sacrifice fly by Nick Yorke, making it 3-2.Couldn't Keep Up
In the 4th inning, another run came in for the Brewers on a fielder’s choice, making it 4-2. Pitching woes continued for us, especially in the 7th inning, when Willy Adames walked with the bases loaded, and Rhys Hoskins took another walk, bringing in a run each and stretching the Brewers' lead to 6-2. Frelick added a sacrifice fly, making it 7-2.Missed Opportunities
While our guys made some solid hits throughout the game, they weren't always timed well to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Standouts include Jared Triolo who had multiple hits, and Joey Bart who hit a double, but we couldn't bring them around to score more often.Looking Ahead
Pirates fans, it was a tough loss, but our team showed a lot of heart out there. We’re back at it tomorrow, ready to fight for that W. Let’s show our Buccos some love and keep cheering them on! #LetsGoBucs!Scoreboard for Brewers @ Pirates (September 24th, 2024)
