Brewers Beat Pirates 5-2!
What a game, Brewers fans! Our Milwaukee Brewers took on the Pittsburgh Pirates and walked away with a solid 5-2 victory. Let's break down the action inning by inning!Early Inning Action
The first inning was quiet for both teams. Brice Turang and William Contreras both grounded out, while Garrett Mitchell struck out looking. Our defense held strong, shutting down the Pirates with Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Bryan Reynolds, and Oneil Cruz all failing to get on base.Taking the Lead in the 3rd
The Brewers struck first in the top of the 3rd inning. Joey Ortiz tripled to center, and Turang brought him home with a ground out to first, putting the Brewers up 1-0.
Building the Lead in the 5th and 6th Innings
Top of the 5th saw some fantastic hitting. A double by Sal Frelick and another by Eric Haase scored Frelick. Then, Turang singled to center, scoring Haase. Right after, Rhys Hoskins doubled to start the 6th and eventually scored on a ground-rule double by Blake Perkins. Later, Ortiz doubled to bring in Perkins, making it 5-0 Brewers!
Pirates Fight Back, But Brewers Hold Strong
The Pirates managed to catch some momentum in the bottom of the 7th with a homer by Bryan De La Cruz, scoring Nick Gonzales, but that was all they could muster. The Brewers' defense cracked down, with J.C. Mejia, Hoby Milner, and Devin Williams stepping up to secure the win.Closing It Out
The 9th inning saw solid pitching by Williams and another offensive push with Gary Sanchez and Jackson Chourio getting on base. However, no additional runs were added. Williams shut down the bottom of the 9th, sealing our victory at 5-2.
