Tough Outing for the Redbirds

Well, Cardinals fans, we were hoping for a stronger showing against the Brewers, but Milwaukee had our number today, unfortunately. 🥲 With a final score of 7-1, it was a tough night at the ballpark here in St. Louis. The Brewers came out swinging early and didn't look back.

Brewers Start Strong

The game started off rough for our pitchers. Brice Turang drew a walk and the Brewers quickly loaded the bases, allowing William Contreras to drive in the first run. Sal Frelick and Rhys Hoskins followed up with singles, giving Milwaukee an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. Our bats, however, stayed silent as Lars Nootbaar, Willson Contreras, and Brendan Donovan couldn't manage to capitalize when at the plate.

The Milwaukee Machine Rolls On

The Brewers continued their offensive power in the 4th inning by adding 4 more runs to the scoreboard, extending their lead to 7-0 where they pretty much sealed the deal. Yelich was instrumental with a two-run single. Meanwhile, Eric Fedde just couldn't hold them back. The Cardinals finally got on the board in the fifth when Lars Nootbaar singled and Brendan Donovan doubled to bring him home, but alas, it was too little, too late.

Final Thoughts

Despite our struggles at the plate, there were a few shining moments. Jordan Walker continued to look promising with a nice single, and Masyn Winn got on base with a walk late in the game, but it just wasn't enough to mount a comeback. 🤚

Heads up, Cards fans! We’ll be looking for revenge in the next match-up! Keep the faith, Cardinal Nation! Let's focus on the positives and hope the team bounces back stronger in the next game. 🔴⚾💪
