Tough Loss for the Brewers
Well, folks, it was a tough one to watch today as our Milwaukee Brewers fell to the St. Louis Cardinals with a final score of 0-3.
First Inning - Missed Opportunities
We had some early chances to take the lead. Jackson Chourio doubled to center, and William Contreras followed with a single to put runners on the corners. However, Garrett Mitchell struck out looking and Willy Adames grounded out to end the inning. We left some runs on base here that could have changed the game.
Dominant Pitching Early On
Both teams' pitching staffs were lights out through the first five innings. Peralta and Koenig did an excellent job keeping the Cards off the scoreboard. Even though we couldn’t capitalize on our offensive chances, our pitchers kept us in the game.
Seventh Inning Disaster
The bottom of the 7th was where things fell apart. After Victor Scott II singled, hits from Masyn Winn and Alec Burleson loaded the bases. Willson Contreras walked to bring in the first run, followed by a fielder’s choice and an RBI single from Nolan Arenado to make it 3-0.
Offense Couldn't Find a Rhythm
Our guys couldn’t get back on track. Gary Sánchez struck out twice, and even after Ortiz walked to give us some hope in the 8th, pinch hitter Andruw Monasterio struck out looking. We just couldn’t string hits together.
Ninth Inning - Final Push
In the top of the 9th, Garrett Mitchell gave us a spark with a single, but William Contreras and Willy Adames couldn't advance him, and Rhys Hoskins popped out to end the game. It was a tough way to close a game where we had opportunities but just couldn't cash in.Looking Forward
