Tough Loss Despite a Late Rally

Hey, Brewers fans! We had an intense game against the Nationals today, but unfortunately, we came up short with a 4-6 loss. Let's break down the game:

Rough Start for the Brewers

The first inning didn't go in our favor at all. Luis García Jr. doubled to right and put the Nationals on the board when Keibert Ruiz singled to right. Things got worse when Travis Blankenhorn doubled to center, allowing both Ruiz and James Wood to score. Alex Call then singled to center, bringing Blankenhorn home. The Nats took an early 4-0 lead, and our boys couldn't get any offense going in the first two innings.

Middle Innings Struggles

In the third inning, Luis García Jr. hit a solo homer to right center, increasing their lead to 5-0. We managed to get William Contreras on base with a double in the fourth, but we couldn't capitalize. The bottom of the fifth saw Luis García Jr. scoring again on a James Wood single, making it 6-1. Rhys Hoskins finally got us on the board in the top of the fifth, but it was still an uphill battle.

Late Game Efforts

Things started to pick up in the later innings. Hoskins hit a solo homer in the top of the seventh, bringing some hope! In the eighth inning, Jackson Chourio and Garrett Mitchell provided us with some much-needed hits. Chourio scored on a wild pitch by Kyle Finnegan, then Gary Sánchez singled, allowing Mitchell to score, cutting the deficit to 6-4.

Valiant Effort, But Not Enough

We made a strong push in the ninth inning. After Brice Turang singled to left and advanced to second on fielder's indifference, Chourio grounded out, ending our chances for a comeback.

Despite this tough loss, it's great to see some flashes of brilliance from players like Hoskins, Contreras, and Chourio. Let's keep supporting our Brew Crew as we bounce back in the next game! 💪⚾
