Baltimore Faithful Celebrate a Close Win!
What a game, O's fans! The Baltimore Orioles scraped by with a tight 4-3 win against the Minnesota Twins, and the atmosphere was electric! It was a roller coaster from start to finish, but our boys pulled it off.
Early Breakthrough in the 3rd Inning
After a quiet start with both teams scoreless through two innings, the O's broke the silence in the bottom of the 3rd. Ramon Laureano got things started with a single and a crafty advance to third, courtesy of a throwing error by the Twins' first baseman, Edouard Julien. Then, Jackson Holliday stole second, which set us up for some good fortune as Adley Rutschman turned a grounder into an Orioles lead due to another miscue from Julien. With Ryan O'Hearn driving in Rutschman later in the inning, we saw our lead swell to 3-0! Our lineup was hanging tough.

The Twins' Response... and Our Solid Defense
While the Twins answered back with homers from Matt Wallner, Edouard Julien, and Brooks Lee, threatening to tip the scale, our boys on the mound kept it together! Special mention to our relief pitchers Baker and Akin who held their ground despite the power display from the Minnesota hitters.
Holding the Line and Closing It Out
In the end, our bullpen came through big time. After a little shuffle in the outfield and infield to keep the defense fresh, we saw tremendous efforts, particularly from González, who dominated the top of the 8th with ease, ensuring no further damage! Heading into the 9th, with the score 4-3, our closer Tavera sealed the deal brilliantly.
It was a hard-fought game, but the Orioles came out on top, reinforcing their commitment to making 2023 memorable for the fans. Let's savor this win and look forward to the next battle. Go O's!!
