A Tough Day at Camden Yards

Fellow Orioles fans, it was a tough pill to swallow today as our beloved Birds fell to the Minnesota Twins, 4-0. Despite hopeful starts and flashes of brilliance, the bats just couldn’t find their rhythm.

Early Opportunities and Lost Momentum

The game started on a promising note with Jackson Holliday reaching on an infield single, but the momentum was cut short as Ryan Mountcastle grounded into a double play. Our hopes soared with each crack of the bat, but Gunnar Henderson quickly ended our first frame with a foul out to third.

The Twins Strike

We held the Twins off for the first two innings, but the top of the third was a sudden reminder of baseball’s unpredictability. DaShawn Keirsey Jr. and Byron Buxton went deep, giving the Twins an early 3-0 lead. Our defense worked hard, but the Twins' power was undeniable today.

Orioles’ Bats Silenced

Throughout the game, our hitters had difficulty finding their timing against the Twins' pitching. We had occasional sparks, like Adley Rutschman taking one for the team with a hit-by-pitch, and Ryan Mountcastle's attempted stretch to third, but it wasn’t enough to ignite a rally.

The Final Blow

In the top of the 7th, the Twins extended their lead with a key run batted in by Royce Lewis, making it 4-0. Despite strong efforts by our bullpen, including Domínguez striking out the side in the 9th, the damage was done.

What’s Next?

Let’s keep our heads up, Orioles fans! There were certainly highlights to be proud of—like Cedric Mullins's solid double and sharp defense—but we know the team will look to regroup and bounce back in the next game. The season’s a long journey, and this team has the talent to turn it around. Let’s keep supporting our Birds! 🧡⚾
