Tough Loss Against the Cubs
Unfortunately, our Twins fell to the Cubs, with a final score of 7-3. It was a tough game from the get-go, and we struggled to regain momentum after a rocky start.A Rough Start in the 1st
The Cubs didn't waste any time putting runs on the board. After Seiya Suzuki managed to get on base, followed by Cody Bellinger reaching on an infield single, the error by Brooks Lee led to Isaac Paredes hitting a crucial home run that brought in three runs. We were down 3-0 right from the first frame.A Ray of Hope in the 4th
In the top of the 4th, Royce Lewis delivered a much-needed boost to our spirits with a two-run homer to left-center, bringing home Carlos Santana who had walked earlier. This narrowed the Cubs' lead to two runs, making it 4-2.Cubs Extend the Lead
The Cubs managed to extend their lead in the 6th inning. Dansby Swanson had a triple to right that brought in Nico Hoerner. Swanson later scored on a wild pitch. This made it 6-2, putting us in a tough position.Late Game Efforts
Despite our efforts, it was hard climbing back. Christian Vázquez tried to spark a rally in the 8th inning with a solo home run to left, bringing the score to 6-3. However, the Cubs added another run in the bottom of the 8th to seal their victory.Final Thoughts
This game wasn't easy to watch, but there were some bright spots such as Lewis' homer and Vázquez's solo shot. We need to clean up those errors and focus on moving forward to the next game. Let's keep our heads up, Twins fans! On to the next one!Scoreboard for Twins @ Cubs (August 7th, 2024)
