Initial Tight Yet Scoreless Innings

The game kicked off with high tension as the Twins loaded the bases in the first inning following a walk to Willi Castro and a single by Carlos Correa. Fortunately, our pitcher sealed the deal, striking out Carlos Santana and forcing Brooks Lee into a fielder's choice. In the bottom of the first, Tommy Pham walked but then Andrew Vaughn hit into a double play, and Luis Robert Jr. popped out. The score remained tied at 0-0.

Strong Defense Holds The Line

In the second and third innings, both teams’ bats were mostly silent. The highlight on our side was Luis Robert Jr. making key outs with solid defense in center field. Our pitchers racked up strikeouts while allowing no room for the Twins to score. Offensively, we struggled to make contact, with Korey Lee and Gavin Sheets contributing strikeouts.

First Blood Drawn By The Sox

The game remained a pitcher's duel until the bottom of the 5th. Gavin Sheets doubled to right, followed by a single from Eloy Jiménez moving him to third. Lenyn Sosa then struck out, making us all anxious, but Paul DeJong came through with a sacrifice fly to left field, allowing Sheets to score. Our team took the lead, 1-0! 🥳

Big Hits Ignite the Crowd!

In the bottom of the 6th, with our lead still precarious at 1-0, Andrew Vaughn hit a ground rule double with two outs. Then, the spark we needed: Luis Robert Jr. crushed a 416-foot home run to center field, bringing Vaughn home. The Sox were up 3-0! 💣⚾🚀

Twins Get One Back

The top of the 7th saw the Twins finally getting on the board with a solo homer from Matt Wallner. But our relief pitching held steady. Eloy Jiménez grounded out and both Lenyn Sosa and Paul DeJong struck out in the bottom of the 7th, so we had to trust our defense to keep the Twins at bay.

Final Push and Victory!

Heading into the 9th inning with a 3-1 lead, Michael Kopech came in to close it out. He struck out Lee and Wallner swiftly. Max Kepler, pinch-hitting for Margot, added a final tense moment by stepping in. But Kopech struck him out swinging to secure the win! 🎉💪 Sox win 3-1!

What a thrilling game, full of exceptional pitching, timely hitting, and killer plays from our beloved White Sox. Let’s carry this momentum forward! Go Sox! 🖤⚾✨
