A Bright Start for the Bats
What a thrilling beginning we had in the bottom of the 2nd inning! The Tigers got on the board with a bang thanks to Spencer Torkelson, who launched a solo homer to left center, giving us a taste of the offensive spark the lineup possesses. We witnessed another display of power in the 3rd when Zach McKinstry sent one flying for a solo home run, and soon after, Kerry Carpenter joined the party with his majestic two-run shot, putting us ahead at 4-3. Our boys showed resilience early on!
Twins Strike Back
Alas, the Minnesota Twins did not back down. The 4th inning saw them tie the game with a deep home run by Brooks Lee, and they continued to build momentum with runs trickling in the 5th and 6th innings. They extended their lead with another pair of homers coming from Austin Martin and Alan Roden in the 6th to swing the game in their favor significantly at 8-4. Despite our initial spark, it was tough seeing the Twins find their rhythm and respond so effectively.A Tough Battle to the End
Our bullpen fought bravely, but the Twins managed to tack on another run in the 7th inning, widening the gap to 9-4. While we knocked on the door by getting runners on base, especially in the 8th inning, it just wasn't our day to seal the deal and close that gap. Despite the rally potential with a few singles by Matt Vierling and late replacement Gleyber Torres, double plays dampened our efforts. The boys kept showing fight to the very end but were ultimately unable to overcome the deficit this time. The road to victory is always paved with challenges, and today's game is one more lesson in resilience for our Tigers.
