The Big Struggle
As a dedicated Minnesota Twins fan, today's game against the Kansas City Royals was a tough pill to swallow. From the get-go, our lineup faced a formidable challenge. Byron Buxton and Ryan Jeffers struck out swinging, with Trevor Larnach grounding out to shortstop. The Royals returned the favor in their half of the first, with Pablo López getting it done on the mound.A Ray of Hope
The only silver lining for the Twins came in the top of the 5th inning when Harrison Bader hit a clutch single to score Ty France after France doubled to left. This tied the game 1-1 and gave us hope that maybe momentum was shifting in our favor. However, the rest of our batters - couldn’t capitalize on this opportunity.Falling Short
The game remained tight until the bottom of the 8th inning when Bobby Witt Jr. safely made it to third on an error, eventually scoring on a ground out, putting the Royals ahead 2-1. Our chance to respond in the 9th evaporated as Matt Wallner, Ty France, and Edouard Julien couldn't muster any hits against the Royals' defense. With a final score of 2-1 in favor of Kansas City, tonight was a stark reminder of the highs and lows of being a Twins fan. Better luck in the next matchup!
