Tough Start for the Twins
Our Minnesota Twins faced a challenging match in Miami, falling 1-4 to the Marlins. The game began with our lineup working hard to break through but failing to find early success. Byron Buxton started off the game with a strikeout, followed by Trevor Larnach flying out to left field. We had some hope when Willi Castro walked and stole second, but unfortunately, Brooks Lee struck out swinging, leaving us scoreless at the end of the first inning.Marlins Take the Lead
In the bottom of the first, the Marlins jumped ahead with Xavier Edwards getting a single to left, followed by Jesus Sanchez's single to center. The Marlins took an early lead as Otto Lopez grounded into a fielder's choice, scoring Edwards. Things got rough when Agustin Ramirez hit a 425-foot homer to left center, bringing in Lopez and putting the Marlins up 3-0.Twins Rally and Wallner Shines
After a scoreless few innings, the Marlins extended their lead to 4-0 by the third. Our boys held firm, and a bright moment arrived in the top of the seventh, when Matt Wallner hit a massive 430-foot homer to center, putting us on the board!
Closing Efforts Fall Short
Despite our efforts in the eighth and ninth innings, including a single from Larnach, we couldn't close the gap further. Their pitchers kept us at bay, and in the ninth inning, Henriquez managed to retire all three of our batters, securing their win.Overall, it was a tough game and while our Twins battled, the Marlins' early momentum proved too much to overcome. Let's rest up and come back stronger next time, Twins fans!
