A Rough Day in the Bronx

As a Twins fan, this was a game that started with promise but soon slipped out of our hands 😞. We struck first with Austin Martin making a solid single to kick things off. Martin also stole second and eventually, with some smart base running, scored to put us briefly on the board with an early lead in the top of the first. However, Aaron Judge quickly responded for the Yankees with a homer to center field, equalizing the score to 1-1.

Middle Innings Struggles

The trouble began in the 2nd inning when Anthony Volpe launched a three-run homer, which widened the Yankees' lead to 4-1. Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Ryan McMahon also contributed, creating a gap we just couldn't close. Our lineup had trouble finding any rhythm against the Yankees’ defense, and unfortunately, our batting faltered as entries from Mickey Gasper, Edouard Julien, and Ryan Fitzgerald couldn't reach base in the innings that followed.

Late Game Blues

The Yankees continued to apply pressure, notably by Giancarlo Stanton, whose 447-foot homer in the 5th and timely single in the 7th brought in more runs, effectively snuffing out any hopes of a comeback. In the bottom of the 8th, Jazz Chisholm Jr. tripled and scored the final run, capping off a 9-1 defeat. Our batting crew couldn’t find the spark needed, with Alan Roden and Matt Wallner being struck out in closing attempts. It was a tough day, but as we Twins fans know, it's all about bouncing back and looking forward to the next game with hope and spirit. Go Twins! 🌟⚾💪
