A Tough Day At The Plate

Well, fellow Twins fans, it was a tough outing for our Minnesota Twins against the St. Louis Cardinals, ending in a 1-5 loss. 😞 This one didn't go quite how we had hoped. Starting off, our bats were pretty quiet. Matt Wallner struck out swinging, Carlos Correa flied out to center, and Byron Buxton grounded out to shortstop in the first inning.

Brief Glimmers of Hope

We saw a glimmer of hope in the 2nd inning when Trevor Larnach singled, stole second, and was brought home by Willi Castro's double, tying it up at 1-1. But after that, we struggled to capitalize on the opportunities. Our defense tried to hold off the Cardinals, with some solid plays by Varland and others, but their bats were relentless.

Cardinals Swing Back

The Cardinals picked up speed in their half of the 6th, scoring 3 runs, and never looked back. Arenado brought in a run with a double, and Nootbaar added two more to the tally with his single, widening the gap to 4-1. They added one more run in the 8th with a sacrifice fly, tightening their grip on the game.

Looking Forward

Despite Buxton's strikeout to end the game, let's not forget the resilience we have shown throughout the season. Sometimes, baseball is just downright challenging! But we'll take this experience and channel it into our next matchup. We'll continue to back the boys in every game. Keep cheering, Twins fans, and let's hope for a turn of fortunes in our next outing! 🙏⚾
