Diamondbacks' First Spark

Hey D-backs fans! What a rollercoaster of emotions at Chase Field tonight! Although we didn't quite clinch the victory against the Mets, our boys put up a fight worth cheering for. The first inning got off to an electrifying start with Corbin Carroll launching a home run to right-center, sending the fans into an early frenzy. 🍾

Mets Take the Lead

The Mets managed to settle down and take control with Pete Alonso blasting a two-run homer in the fourth. Although we remained competitive, the Mets extended their lead with a three-run shot from Francisco Lindor in the seventh that put them ahead 5-1. Watching that ball fly out was a tough pill to swallow. 😩

D-backs' Fierce 8th Inning Rally

But hold your horses, because our Arizona Diamondbacks had some fight left in them! The 8th inning saw Geraldo Perdomo walk and advance, while Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte loaded the bases with consecutive walks. Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suárez sent in three runs to close the gap to one run.

Heartbreaking Ninth

The ninth inning was an edge-of-the-seat affair, but unfortunately, we couldn't drive another run across home plate to tie or win it. Alek Thomas found himself on base due to a throwing error but was thrown out trying to steal second, and alas, that was our final gasp. The Mets pulled out a close win, 5-4. Even though the result wasn't in our favor, there's no denying that the excitement was sky-high and the D-backs showed resilience. Looking forward to the next game, go D-backs! 💪
