A Rollercoaster Game in Atlanta

Hey Mets fans, what a nail-biter we had against the Atlanta Braves last night! While we hoped to pull it off, it was a hard-fought game with some good takeaways, even though the final score didn't go our way.

Mets Start Strong 🎉

The second inning brought some excitement our way as Jeff McNeil found himself on base after a walk, paving the way for Mark Vientos to send a spectacular 402-foot homer into left-center, putting us ahead 2-0 early in the game! Vientos showed his power, giving the team the early momentum we needed.

A Tight Squeeze in the Sixth 🤯

Up until the 6th inning, our pitching staff held the Braves scoreless. But the Braves retaliated with a two-run single, putting them back in contention and settling the score at 2-2. A quick switch to the bullpen saw Raley step up, preventing further damage and keeping the game deadlocked.

Braves Edge Ahead in the Eighth 😬

Things got tense in the bottom of the 8th as Jurickson Profar delivered a clutch single for the Braves, scoring two runs and making it a 4-2 game in their favor. Our team couldn't quite stop Profar's aggressive baserunning as he later stole second. A tough inning, but we still had a shot to come back in the 9th!

Mets Rally Falls Short in the Ninth 🚀

As always, our Mets never give up without a fight. Cedric Mullins got a base hit in the 9th, followed by a single from Francisco Lindor. The tension rose in the ballpark when Juan Soto hit another single, narrowing the gap to 4-3 and bringing hope back into the Mets dugout. Unfortunately, despite some solid contact, Pete Alonso and Jeff McNeil couldn't bring the tying run home.

Although it ended in a 4-3 loss, there were some commendable plays and spirited performances. It's just one game in the long season, and there's always another opportunity to shine! Let's stay positive, keep cheering, and show our team the support they need moving forward. Let's go Mets! 💪💙🧡
