Well, we had an exciting but ultimately bittersweet game against the Mets today over at Wrigley Field. It was definitely a back-and-forth battle, but unfortunately, we fell just short of clinching the win. The final score was 9-7 in favor of the Mets.Hot Start by the Cubs
Things were looking promising in the early innings. After the Mets kicked things off with a home run from Francisco Lindor in the 1st, our guys responded with a bang!
Nico Hoerner, who was on fire today, got us on base, and a spectacular double by Carlos Santana turned things in our favor, sending both Hoerner and Carson Kelly across home plate. We ended the first inning leading 2-1! 
️Middle Innings Drama
We extended our lead in the 2nd inning with a well-placed sacrifice bunt from Pete Crow-Armstrong. Then, more exciting moments as Hoerner and Ian Happ got some runs in and made it 5-1. Our momentum was solid through the 4th inning with a bit of help from an error, making the score 6-1. But things started heating up in the 5th when Brandon Nimmo blasted a three-run homer, leveling the playing field at 6-6.A Tough Finish
Our boys put up a brave fight, with Hoerner tying it 7-7 in the 6th inning thanks to a crucial single from Seiya Suzuki. But in the 8th, Francisco Alvarez cranked a two-run homer, giving the Mets the 9-7 edge. Despite some valiant efforts, including stealing bases and strong pitching from Justin Turner and company, the Cubs couldn't spark a late comeback. A tough ending as we struck out in the 9th.Final Thoughts
It's games like these that keep the heart pumping! Although not the result we wanted, I’ve got to appreciate the hustle and spirit the team showed out there today. We've got the grit, and I know we’ll bounce back stronger. Let's keep our heads up, Cubs fans! Tomorrow's another day to roar back into action!
