Pitcher's Duel in Houston
What a game, Mets fans!
Early Fireworks from the Mets’ Offense
The game started a bit slow with Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto, and Pete Alonso unable to get on base in the first inning. However, it was the top of the 2nd where our bats came alive. Brandon Nimmo started things off with a single to left and advanced to second on a caught stealing error, setting the stage for Mark Vientos to double him home. Right after, Jesse Winker singled, bringing Vientos home to give us a quick two-run lead!

Soto's Solo Shot
In the top of the 3rd, Juan Soto made it 3-0, sending a homer 390 feet into right field
Pitching Dominance
The pitching was on point tonight! Tylor Megill kept the Astros quiet until the 4th inning when Yordan Alvarez managed a sacrifice fly to bring Jose Altuve home. Final Standoff
The Astros tried to rally late in the game but our bullpen held firm. Diaz's 1-2-3 finish in the ninth iced the victory for us. The Mets' defense and bullpen stood unyielding, never giving the Astros a foothold back into the game.
What a terrific team win to start off another great series, keeping the momentum swinging our way. Go Mets! Let's keep this streak going!
