Fiery Start for Mighty Mets

The New York Mets started the game blazing with power, as Pete Alonso hammered a solo home run in the top of the second inning, sending the ball soaring 408 feet into right center! 🚀 The momentum didn't stop there. Brandon Nimmo contributed with another homer in the third inning, a smashing 391-footer over center field. Not to be outdone, Starling Marte immediately followed with a 371-foot blast to left, putting the Mets up 3-0 early. The Mets were rolling as Brett Baty chipped in with a sacrifice fly, scoring Alonso to stretch the lead to 4-0. 🙌

Dodgers Fight Back

But in the bottom of the third, the Dodgers clawed back. Mookie Betts doubled, bringing home a run, while Will Smith and Teoscar Hernández each contributed with RBIs to tighten the game to 4-3. 😬 The Mets pitching held firm through the next few innings, keeping the Dodgers at bay and maintaining a narrow lead despite giving up hits.

Heartbreak Late in the Game

The game took a dramatic turn in the bottom of the eighth. The Dodgers rallied back with Betts scoring and a throwing error by Baty allowing another runner to cross the plate, tying the game at 5-5. 😔 A clutch single from former Met Michael Conforto brought in the go-ahead run, putting the Dodgers ahead 6-5. Despite a valiant effort in the ninth, highlighted by Francisco Alvarez getting on base, the Mets couldn’t muster the final push, and the Dodgers sealed their victory. 🎭

Still Proud, LGM! 🇸🇾⚾

Though the game slipped away from us in the final innings, the Mets showed heart and grit with a powerful start and resilient defense. We'll keep pushing. Let's Go Mets! 💪
