A Solid Start for the Mets
The New York Mets were off to a promising start in Milwaukee, with Francisco Lindor getting hit by a pitch and then stealing second base in the top of the 1st inning. Thanks to a single from Juan Soto, Lindor crossed home plate, putting the Mets on the scoreboard immediately. Soto wasn’t resting either as he managed to steal second before Brandon Nimmo earned a walk. With runs starting to pile up, Jeff McNeil drove Soto home with a single to right, and before you knew it, the Mets were already up by two! It's always thrilling to see our boys come out swinging from the get-go.
Power from our Young Guns
In the top of the 2nd, Brett Baty crushed a homer to left center field, extending our lead to 3-0. And hey, let’s not forget about Cedric Mullins slamming a solo homer in the top of the 4th, adding another run. It was heartening to see our young stars shining bright and adding to the Mets' tally. Every strikeout and homer got our hopes up as we stretched the lead to 5-0. Keep those bats hot, fellas!
The Turn of the Tide
Though we saw some razor-sharp plays, the Brewers were persistent and started to claw their way back in the 4th inning. Despite a solid start, the momentum began to shift with a home run from William Contreras and some key hits in the bottom of the 5th inning as the Brewers started closing the gap. By the time the game reached the bottom of the 8th, it was neck and neck at a 6-6 tie. Our beloved Mets found themselves in a tight spot. That bitter 9th inning saw Isaac Collins hit a homer, sealing our fate with a final score of 7-6 in favor of the Brewers. It's a tough pill to swallow, seeing the boys in blue and orange come so close. Let's rally behind them for the next one. There's always another game, and we're behind you 100%, Mets!
