Exciting Start, but Frustrating Day for the Crew

Fellow Brewers fans, it was a day of mixed emotions at American Family Field as our boys gave us some exciting moments but ultimately fell short against the Mets. Facing off against a formidable opponent, the first few innings saw zeroes across the board. Our guys showed strong defensive play to keep the Mets scoreless early on. 🎽💪

The Bats Finally Come Alive

Fast forward to the bottom of the 7th, and here’s where things got electrifying! Pinch-hitter Jake Bauers launched a massive homer to right field that sailed 405 feet, breaking the deadlock and putting us on the board. The energy was palpable, and as if on cue, Sal Frelick followed with an absolute mammoth shot of his own, 408 feet to right. With a 2-0 lead, it felt like the momentum was swinging in our favor. What an inning! ⚾🔥

Heartbreak in the Ninth

But alas, baseball is a cruel game at times. Heading into the 9th, Devin Williams couldn't hold back the Mets fury. An ill-timed walk to Lindor, followed by a costly homer by Alonso, saw the Mets storm back to take a 3-2 lead. 🎳😩 Then Marte’s single added insult to injury, bringing in another run. With the final score at 4-2, it wasn't our day.

Despite the heartache, there were still reasons to hold our heads high. Defensively, we kept the Mets at bay for most of the game, and the 7th inning offensive surge was something special. Onward and upward, Brewers fans! We'll get 'em next time! 🍻🧢
