Thrilling Start for Mets
What an electrifying start for our New York Mets!
Phillies Fight Back
As we moved into the 4th inning, the Phillies started to fight back. With Nick Castellanos reaching on a walk, Otto Kemp hit a clutch two-run homer to center field, cutting into our lead. The bottom of the 5th saw Bryce Harper driving in another run for the Phillies, tightening the score to 4-3. By the 6th inning, a few mishaps from our bullpen allowed the Phillies to take the lead with three runs, making it 6-4 in their favor.
Struggle to React
From the 5th inning on, our bats went quiet. Despite the red-hot start, the Phillies' pitching managed to lock down our formidable lineup. There were a lot of swing-and-misses, with Pete Alonso and others unable to shake off the funk. Alas, the game ended with us unable to regain the momentum we had at the start. The Phillies took the win with a final score of 6-4. It was indeed a disheartening loss, but we look forward to bouncing back and showing that Mets spirit in the next match-up!
