Tough Battle in San Diego
Well, Mets fans, what a rollercoaster of a game we had against the Padres tonight at Petco Park. It was a heartbreaker, as the Padres edged us out with a final score of 7-6. Despite the loss, there were moments that got us truly excited.

Getting Off the Ground
The game started off with a promising scoreless inning as neither team managed to put runs on the board in the first. But the second inning saw Jeff McNeil make things happen by walking and later scoring, putting the first run on the board thanks to a sacrifice fly by Brett Baty. The Mets had the early lead at 1-0.Unpredictable Turns
In the third inning, the Padres caught up with a run of their own, evening the score 1-1. But it was the fifth inning that really shook things up. Mark Vientos blasted a homer to right field, bringing in three runs, and bringing the score to 5-1 in favor of the Mets. What a shot!
Back-and-Forth Drama
Though the sixth and seventh were less eventful, it was clear both teams were giving it their all. Come the ninth inning, with Francisco Alvarez out and two outs on board, Ronny Mauricio hit a monster home run to level the scores at 6-6. The Mets dug deep for this comeback, and our spirits soared with hope!
The Final Blow
But just when it seemed we might head to extra innings or even steal the win, the Padres had their last say. Elias Diaz managed a walk-off single that sent Jose Iglesias home for the winning run. It was a gut-wrenching end to what was otherwise a gripping contest.
Despite the tough loss, there were brilliant performances and moments of resilience that made us proud. Let’s keep our spirits high, Believers. The season isn’t over yet!
