A Tough Day for the Mets Bats
️
Fellow Mets fans, today wasn't our day
Missed Opportunities All Around
It began promisingly with a Mark Vientos single in the top of the 1st, but unfortunately, that was about the only highlight for our offense. Despite efforts from Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor, we just couldn't string together enough baserunners to put pressure on San Diego. In the 5th, Ronny Mauricio had a glimmer of hope with his single to right, but even that fizzled into nothing more. Despite Nimmo securing a double in the 9th, any dreams of a rally were promptly snuffed out.Bright Spots, But Silver Linings are Thin
Defensively, Francisco Lindor had a hiccup with a throwing error that contributed to two runs for the Padres, but all in all, our defense showed grit — let’s hope that keeps improving! Our bullpen had moments, with Stanek and Raley getting their innings clean, but alas, it was Machado's bat for the Padres and a crushing homer from Gavin Sheets (427 feet!) that left us licking our wounds. To my fellow believers in these orange and blue, keep the faith alive! The Mets are known for that fighting spirit, and we'll bounce back. Let’s support our team through thick and thin because that's what true Mets fans do. Bring on the next game! Let's go Mets!
