Disappointing Night in St. Louis

Hey Mets fans! It's never easy to see our boys fall short, especially after such a promising start. The Cardinals snuck past us with a 5-4 victory, but we showed some solid moments out there tonight! 🚀

Strong Start Gave Us Hopes

We had a slow start, but things heated up in the 3rd inning. Our bats came alive with Pete Alonso smacking an RBI single to get us on the scoreboard. ⚾️ Then, Starling Marte and Francisco Alvarez came through in the clutch, driving home runs and turning a 0-2 deficit into a 4-2 lead! Marte also showed his speed, swiping second in the 2nd inning which was vital in keeping pressure on the Cardinals.

The Cardinals' Comeback

St. Louis struck back in the bottom of the 3rd, tying the game 4-4. Alec Burleson's home run in the 2nd inning started things for them, and then they found a way to get key runs when they needed. A double by Victor Scott II in the 6th inning put them ahead 5-4 and that was all they needed to seal the win.

Once Again, We Fought Hard

Despite the loss, it was great to see Francisco Lindor and Mark Vientos getting on base and keeping hope alive for us. Our bullpen managed to hold the Cards after the 6th inning, but unfortunately, we couldn't muster up the offense needed in the late innings to make the comeback.

It's a bit of a heartbreaker today, but we'll be back tomorrow to show that championship spirit we know and love! 💪 Let's keep the faith, Mets fans!
