A Rough Outing for the Red Sox
Tough game to watch, Red Sox Nation. Boston fell to the Yankees with a final score of 8-2. Despite flashes of brilliance, our Sox couldn't keep up with the Bombers tonight.Shaky Start
The game got off to a rocky start as the Yankees took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Aaron Judge and Gleyber Torres came out swinging, making it challenging for us to gain any momentum.A Spark in the Fourth
Hope sparked for a moment in the bottom of the 4th inning when Rob Refsnyder and Connor Wong both hit solo homers to left-center, cutting the Yankees' lead to 4-2. Rafael Devers even managed an electrifying triple, but unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize further from there.Yankees Extend the Lead
The Yankees added more insurance runs in the 7th and 8th innings. With sacrifices and timely hits from Oswaldo Cabrera and Austin Wells, they made it a steep hill for our Sox to climb, pulling ahead 7-2.Ninth-Inning Fight
In the top of the 9th, DJ LeMahieu further extended the lead with a sacrifice fly, making it 8-2. We saw Romy González and Danny Jansen try to make things happen one last time, but the Yankees defense held strong, ending the game.Final Thoughts
The Sox had a few moments to shine, but consistency and capitalizing on opportunities were lacking tonight. Kudos to Devers, Refsnyder, and Wong for their efforts! We'll shake this one off and come back stronger!Scoreboard for Yankees @ Red Sox (July 28th, 2024)
