Tough Loss in Extra Innings
Well folks, it was a nail-biter of a game against the Cincinnati Reds, and unfortunately, our Yankees couldn't take home the win today.
The match ended in a dramatic 11th inning, with the Reds sneaking past us with a final score of 5-4.Early Excitement with Ben Rice and Anthony Volpe
Things started heating up in the 4th inning when Ben Rice sent one flying over right field (427 feet!) to put us on the board.
Following the momentum, Anthony Volpe came through with a clutch triple that drove both Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr. home, upping our lead to 3-0. Yankees Pitching Holds Strong Early
Our pitchers were doing a solid job silencing the Reds through six innings. Big ups to our guys for keeping Cincinnati off the board till the 7th inning. It's never easy to watch when the tide turns, especially after a three-run spurt from the Reds tied things up.
Extra Innings Drama
Into extra innings we went! And thanks to a wild pitch by the Reds, Judge dashed home, giving us a slender lead heading into the bottom of the 11th. But it was short-lived, with the Reds' Gavin Lux delivering the game-winning hit, bringing in Elly De La Cruz for the walk-off win. How tough was that?
The game may not have ended in our favor, but there's always time to regroup and bring Yankees Baseball back stronger than ever!
